GoFlex with more muscle

Seagate has a new member in its GoFlex family of external hard drives - called the GoFlex Home network storage system.

The GoFlex Home connects to a home wireless router via an Ethernet cable, and once connected, allows you to store, stream and backup your files wirelessly over the network.

Available in both 1TB and 2TB capacities, the GoFlex Home is compatible with DLNA-compliant devices (such as game consoles and video players).

The device is also modular, which means the hard drive can be upgraded by simply removing the drive from the base and then replacing it with another GoFlex Desk hard drive.

You can also add additional storage on top of the GoFlex hard drive by simply plugging in an external hard disk into the GoFlex Home's USB port. The USB port can also be used to share printers over the wireless network.

The GoFlex Home retails for RM488 for the 1TB version, while the 2TB costs RM688.

my comment:

wireless technologies include both wireless devices, such as smart phones, and wireless transmission media, such as microwave, satellite, and radio. these technologies are changing the ways organizations operate and do business.

individuals are finding it convenient and productive to use wireless network devices for several reasons, first, they can make productive use of time that was before wasted. for example, while commuting to work on public transportation.

second, because they can take these devices with them, their work locations are becoming much more flexible. third, wireless technology enbles them to allocate their working time around personal and professional obligations.

according to IS books wireless is a term to describe telecommunications in which electromagnetic waves, rather than some form of wire or cable, carry signal between communicating devices.in many situations, the traditional working environment that requires users to come to a wired computer is either ineffective or in efficient. in these situations, the solution is only to use computers that are small enough to carry or wear, which can communicate via wireless networks.the ability to communicate anytime anywhere provides organizations with strategic advantages by increasing productivity and speed and improving customer service.

wireless technology and mobile commerce are spreading rapidly, replacing wired computing. in some cases, wireless technologies are allowing countries to build a communications infrastructure from scratch.
