PETALING JAYA: Four years after Cybersecurity Malaysia was accepted as a participating member of the Common Criteria Recognition Arrangement (CCRA), it is now an authorising member.

This means that Cybersecurity Malaysia labs can now evaluate and certify IT products as ISO standard 15408, which is regarded as the international benchmark for IT security evaluations.

This standard addresses product functionality, development environ-ment, documentation, and product-testing measures. The certification is recognised in 26 countries including the United States, Britain, South Korea, Japan and Germany.

The official announcement was made at the opening ceremony of the 12th International Common Criteria Conference here.

Science, Technology and Innova-tion Minister, Datuk Seri Maximus Ongkili said the acceptance will uplift Malaysia as a regional centre for security evaluation and certification of ICT products.

Electric commerce or e-commerce can be describe as the process of buying, selling, transferring, or exchanging products, services, or information via computer networks, including the internet. E-commerce can take several forms. It can relate to:

1. The product or service being sold.
2. The process by which the product or service is produced.
3. The delivery agent or intermediary.

Or we can say that the product can be physical or digital. The process can be physical or digital and the delivery agent can be physical or digital. According to some books in traditional commerce all three dimensions are physical. For example, buying car at mudah.my or a book from Amazon.com is part of e-commerce, because the merchandise is physically delivered by poslaju or FedEx or any delivery company.
There are several types of e-commerce which is:

1. C2C
2. B2E
3. G2C
4. B2C
5. B2B
6. C2C

Lets discuss just three of it only.

Consumer-to-consumer (C2C)

C2C is an individuals sells products or services to other indiciduals. The major strategies to conduct C2C on the internet are auctions and classified ads. Most auctions are conducted by intermediaries, for example eBay. Consumers can select general sites such as www.auctionanything.com. In addition, many indiciduals are conducting their own auctions.

Business-to-employee (B2C)

In B2C, an organization uses e-commerce internally to provide information and services to its employee. Companies allow employees to manage their benefits and take training classes electronically. Moreover, employees can buy discounted insurance, travel packages, and tickets to event on the coporate intranet.

Government-to-consumer (G2C)

G2C uses e-commerce in particular to deliver information and public services to citizen. It is also an efficient way of conducting business transactions with citizens and within the governments themselves. G2C electronic commerce is electronic benefits transfer, in which governments transfer benefits, such as social security and pension payments, directly to recipient’s bank accounts.
